Bad Haiku - Subject : The Moon

One night I just could not get the moon out of my head.
I wrote several somewhat bizarre verses in 5-7-5 about
the moon. Surely we all know the references to the moon
being made of green cheese.

Some of these are somewhat comical  and after reading
them, they made me giggle so I thought I would share them.
If I am slightly off beat and you find these odd, oh well. I
embrace it!

The man in the moon
We know him as Neil Armstrong
But does he eat cheese.

And here are some  links to information about Neil Armstrong.

And I found a truly fascinating illustrated copy of
Hey Diddle Diddle and Baby Bunting, by Randolph Caldecott
courtesy of Project Gutenberg. You REALLY need to check
this out. The illustrations are wonderful.

Sliver half or whole
Is this the cheese or the moon
That we talk about.

and finally....

Oh sliver of moon.
Where did the rest of you go.
Did the man eat you.

Probably the worst of the bunch!!!
I laugh at myself hahahaha. :)

Stream of consciousness on Listening to Sounds

I love the sounds that my dog makes. From the crunching of his cookies to the quiet breathing and little sighs when he is sleeping to the little quiet snores when he is sleeping as well. If I cry and sob he starts barking and his barks start changing to almost match my crying. I love his little soft snorts and churtles. I like the soft white noise of my air purifier because it drowns out many more irritating sounds. Noise physically can hurt me so I really prefer quiet. If I have my television on, most of the time the sound is off. I will turn on the closed captioning. Right now I just heard my refrigerator start up. I dread lawn and garden machine noises. The hum of my computer fan is ok. While this little ostrich named Pip was alive (he/she was broadcast live on the internet from hatching till when he/she died at just about a week old. It is very difficult to raise an ostrich, they succumb to many things very easily so it was very brave of this man to try it). Anyway I fell in love with this little ostrich and am still mourning the loss. The little ostrich had the most beautiful and charming trill that just inspired awe in me. The whole little creature inspired awe and wonder in me. I like hearing the words l love you. Many words are just jibber jabber but some are really nice. The sounds of some words are nice and pleasant and the sounds of others are harsh and unpleasant. If we didn't know what they meant and just used a really nice pleasant tone when we said them, I guess most things might sound nice. I like the sound of music. The sound not necessarily the musical although I always liked that too. It depends on my mood as to what kind of music pleases me. Nature sounds can be nice. Wind in the trees. Soft rain. Trickling water. Ocean waves. Oh my goodness I could keep writing for a lot longer but noone would read it all! So I'll end here.

Since I spoke about my dog, I will show you a picture of him. He doesn't care!

He is a rescue doggie, so he has many problems but I love him dearly.
I am lucky that I found him and he is doubly lucky that I found him.

Introduction

Some of you may know me from my Haiku blog. Or not. I decided to write another
blog on some of my reflections, thoughts, ponderings and cogitation on life the
universe and everything. "Life,  the Universe and Everything" is one part of "The
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. For those who do not know
what this is, here is a link to the Wikipedia entry on "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the
Galaxy". Now remember, the blog is not about the books, it's about my thoughts.

I'll start us all off with a Haiku, since that is what I am used to.

Answer to Life the
Universe and Every
Thing is Forty Two.

I want to give credit to an android app called "Conscious" for inspiring me to think
about and write on such subjects that I write about. It also comes in Apple flavor!
Here are the links to this app.

Be forewarned. This app is not for the faint of heart. It will make you think and reflect
and ponder and cogitate, and sometimes you will wish you hadn't. But if you want to
know yourself better, this is the app for you. Disclaimer, I don't even know the person
who wrote it, so I have no interest in promoting it other than the fact that I personally
have found it thought provoking and I like it.

And so, off we go. Welcome to my new blog.
